We are the city's new bistro on the waterfront

Le Sund is located right in the heart of Ålesund’s historic center. Here, the sea, people, and quality ingredients have always come together—and they always will. We aim to create a bistro with a cozy atmosphere, an inviting vibe, and a deep respect for both our ingredients and our guests. A place to take a break, slow down, and savor the taste of food made with care.

Stop by and take a seat
at our little wine bar

The wine bar at Le Sund is our tribute to French bistro culture. A small, intimate corner dedicated to fine wines and local ingredients served as small plates. Perfect for an aperitif, a casual bite after work, or an evening spent savoring delicious flavors.

Find your favorite on the wine list and grab a seat at the bar—we’ll save a spot for you.

For us, it’s all about good craftsmanship. We let the ingredients dictate the menu, follow the seasons closely, and take our time where it’s needed. Quality over speed. Honesty in both our choices and our preparation.

Simple ingredients, clear choices.

We use local ingredients because we believe that the place is reflected in the flavor. Terroir, as the French say. The soil, the sea, the climate, and the people all leave their mark on the food. At the same time, we believe that many dishes are made even better with a touch of French cooking—and plenty of butter.
